St Fermin

St Fermin, held in Pamplona every year is one of Spain's most spectacular fiestas - well it would be if not for its now over popular appeal. The whole city, swelled by visitors from all over the world, alongside locals wearing white with red scarfs and sashes, transforms into an alcohol-fuelled orgy of red wine, beer and rubbish. At 8 am each day for a week, bulls are run along a designated route egged on by shepherds, and those brave enough to run in front, alongside or behind the bulls risk their lives from being trampled under foot or impaled by horns.
